April Gaylor is a Medical Assisting student at Pennsylvania Institute of Health and Technology.
She is 18 years old, newly engaged and has a 9-month old daughter. Three years ago, she never imagined she would be in college. “I got my GED instead of graduating from high school and never thought I would actually attend college. But, I’m here!”
April has always wanted to help people, but was never sure how. “When I started thinking about college and what I wanted to do with my life, I pictured myself in the medical field, and now here I am! I feel it’s a perfect fit for me because it’s constantly evolving and we will always need healthcare professionals,” she explained.
Her favorite part of attending PIHT so far is that it’s like a family. “Everyone knows everyone and it’s a calm learning environment,” she said.
April would like to thank her family for supporting her and making it possible to go to school. She would also like to thank Katrina for her patience during her Admissions Interview. “Katrina really helped me and if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be here right now!”
